How do I enroll?

Enrolling in our program is simple and fast. Simply select your course, checkout, and you will have immediate access to your course content. No need to leave home or take time off work to enroll.

What is the process in getting my Security Guard License?

Once you have completed our training we issue you a training completion number (TCN). You then take that TCN to the Ministry’s website to book your Ministry Test. Given that you’ve passed the Ministry Test, you can then apply for your license.

How much is SecurGARD's Program?

Our Online Security Guard Course is $99 + HST.

Our Online Private Investigator Course is $149 + HST.

What is Distance Education?

Distance education is a learning method that allows our students to study their course material at their own pace without the need to attend a classroom.

What are the benefits of Distance Education with SecurGARD?

SecurGARD offers the mandatory 40 Hour Security Guard and the 50 Hour Private Investigator programs in easy-to read and easy-to-follow formats. Student support is offered online and via our toll free hotline. There is no need to travel or take time off work to complete this program.

What type of students enroll in SecurGARD's program?

Anyone wishing to start a career in the field of security or investigation or anyone wishing to pursue a career in policing or corrections can enroll in our courses as the initial steps to their career plans.

Do I get course material in the mail?

All course material is available online.

Are there any educational requirements to enroll in SecurGARD Program?

There are absolutely no prior educational requirements to enroll in our Online Security Guard Program or our Online Private Investigator Program.

Are the any age requirements to enroll in SecurGARD Program?

There is no age requirements to enroll in our online courses, however there are age requirements of 18 to apply for a Security Guard License and/or Private Investigator License.

Is there a deadline for enrollment?

There is no set time or deadline to enroll in our Online Security Guard Program or our Online Private Investigator Program. As this is a web-based training program, anyone can enroll on their own time and study at their own pace.

Can I enroll on behalf of a friend or family member?
Unfortunately, no. We prefer students to enroll in the course themselves as we require personal information to be submitted in order to enroll.
How long do I have to complete the Online Security Guard Program?

Our Online Security Guard Program is designed to take 40 hours to complete, however we allow students a period of 90 Days to complete their studies and prepare for their Security Guard License.

Our Online Private Investigator Program is designed to take 50 hours to complete, however we allow students a period of 90 Days to complete their studies and prepare for their Private Investigator License.

What happens if I don’t complete my training within the 90 days?

There is a Reactivation Fee of $49+HST for an additional 30 days if you did not complete your training within the time given.

Do you offer Practice Test? If so how many times can I take the Practice Test?

Yes, we do. Students can take the Practice Test as many times as needed or as many times as desired. We also have Quizzes for each chapter. 

Where can I get my First-AID/CPR Certificate?

Students can get their certificate from any training agency that is WSIB approved, ie. St. John’s Ambulance, The Canadian Red Cross.

First-Aid/CPR is not required for the Private Investigator license.

What if I already have a valid First-AID/CPR Certificate?

As long as your certificate was obtained by a training agency that is WSIB approved, you can email us a copy of your valid certificate.
